Welcome to my blog!

When I was a child, I received a small black plastic camera for Christmas from my brother. Much to my Mother's dismay, I promptly used-up the entire roll of film photographing everything I loved about my childhood home from the wreath on the frontdoor to the vintage bobblehead Rudolph on top of the television. Today, my love of photography has combined with my love of children.

Children are completely unpredictable, and I love that! As an Elementary Music Teacher, I take that to heart on a daily basis. I understand that children need to move around and have fun in order to be themselves. During a photography session, I am prepared to crawl around in the dirt following a little boy on a worm hunt, and I will happily chatter away with a little girl about which Disney princess I would be if the opportunity should ever arise. (I do have all the movies!)

After the birth of my daughter Mollie in 2009, I realized that photography should be more than something I do "every now-and-then." Whether I am photographing a family at the Botanic Gardens or experiencing a couple's first dance, I am totally content behind a lens. I love capturing the individual personalities of my subjects through moments and making them last for years to come. Every moment is precious. Let me capture yours.

Virts Family {Athens, GA Photographer}

I am such a lucky girl to have two sessions in one day! My second mini session was with the Virts family at the Botanic Gardens. They have three adorable children. I had a lot of fun photographing their unique personalities. For those of you who do not know, my other career is as an elementary music teacher. I cannot tell you how valuable it is to have that kind of experience in a classroom when photographing young children. I love having the opportunity to figure out what makes each little one “tick”. For some it is a joke, and for others a story about a princess. They are all so perfectly unique and fun! I am so glad that I met Melissa, the mother of these kids. She and her husband are so nice! I hope you two enjoy your new home in Georgia and this preview of your photos.
